Luigi Scapini, who designed this pack, found his inspiration in the symbols and subjects of earlier Lenormand style packs. He has deliberately used an antique style (that of the 1800's, hence the title of the pack) and strong primary colours. In the top left-hand corner of every card is a miniature French-suited playing card (English pattern).
